NEST COMMUNITY SHELTER HOLDS MOBILE OPEN HOUSE IN LA PORTE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 13TH
Nest Community Shelter takes its mission on the road to share, educate, and advocate for the unhoused population across La Porte County.
WHAT: Nest, the only emergency shelter in La Porte County that welcomes men, women, and women with children, is embarking on a unique initiative. In 2024, Nest will host mobile open houses throughout the county, a novel approach to educate the community about the unhoused population and Nest’s comprehensive services.
WHO: Leading the discussion on the challenges faced by the unhoused population in La Porte County is our Executive Director, Harrison Holtkamp. Following the discussion, the public and media are encouraged to engage in a Q&A session.
WHERE: The LaPorte County Public Library Main Branch is located at 904 Indiana Ave. La Porte, IN. 46350, Meeting Room A
WHEN: April 13th at 11 A.M.
WHY: Homelessness is an ongoing issue across LaPorte County. Many believe that Nest only serves Michigan City residents; Nest wants to dispel this myth and share the services and opportunities it offers for all La Porte County residents who are experiencing homelessness.
